Our Safe Travel Pledge
Before we operate tours, all of our employees, partners and our guests will take our Safe Travel Pledge. Our Association and our partners will follow enhanced protocols with diligence and rigor; review them frequently as the COVID-19 landscape changes and always make common-sense decisions grounded in purpose and science. We embrace these new and necessary measures to combat COVID-19 and will do our very best to provide you with Safe Travel.
Our New Health and Safety Protocols
Consistent with our commitment to the well-being of our guests, we are implementing enhanced health and safety protocols. These protocols may vary by geographic regions and will certainly evolve over time, as science and society respond to new realities.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read this information carefully, as payment of a $99 deposit per person represents your acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions.
Not Included in Tour Price
Airfare to the tour departure pin and from the tour ending point is not included.
Gratuities to your Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association (ACRTA) Tour Director, which are at your discretion (suggested gratuities: $10-$15 per traveler, per day) and Driver Gratuities are not included and should be extended on a voluntary, individual basis.
Hotel Rooms Before or After Tours – To start the trip relaxed and refreshed, many guests prefer to make hotel arrangements before their tour departs. As a service, we will make hotel reservations before or after your trip on a space available basis upon request. Hotel charges will be added to your tour cost. Unless noted, airport transfers are not included for these bookings; ask for details when booking.
Personal Expenses such as phone calls, porterage, room service, alcoholic and bar beverages, laundry, airline excess luggage charges and other optional incidental extras are not included.
Optional sightseeing is not included.
Travel protection insurance Is not included.
Luggage Responsibility
Although every effort is made to handle guests’ luggage carefully, we cannot be responsible, assume liability or accept claims for loss or damage to luggage and personal effects due to breakage, theft, or fair wear and tear through hotel, airline and group carrier handling. It is important to have adequate insurance to cover these eventualities.
Itinerary Changes & Price Flexibility
We pledge to make every effort to operate all tours as advertised. We reserve the right to alter or curtail the itinerary, or substitute sightseeing, guides, speakers, hotels, and / or conveyances as deemed necessary. Any savings realized by these changes will be refunded to passengers. Any resultant added expense will be covered by the Association.

Space is not held until payment means are provided for the deposit. Currently under COVID-19 landscape, all deposits have been reduced to $99 from $499.
Payments
Upon receipt of your payment either online, by phone, or via mail for your deposit, your credit card provided will be charged in full 90 days prior to your selected tour departure date. We are flexible to accept partial payments towards the final bill up to 90 days prior to your selected tour departure date. We are also flexible to arrange payments after said final payment date provided you have written correspondence as such and you fully understand that those accounts not paid in full by 90 days prior to your selected tour departure date will result in the release of space for others who may wish to participate in a selected departure date.
Cancellations, Refunds, and Changes
If you must cancel your trip, the effective date of cancellation will be upon Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association’s receipt of your notification. Refunds for cancellations are subject to the following per person charges: cancel 90 days or more before departure: no charge; cancel 89-65 days before departure: 25% of tour price; cancel 64-45 days before departure: 50% of tour price; cancel 44-30 days before departure: 75% of tour price; cancel 29-0 days before departure: no refund. If you make any changes to your reservation from 90 to 30 days prior to departure, Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association will apply a $100 per person administrative fee, in addition to any fees or penalties imposed by third parties. Changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. If your reservation changes from double occupancy to single occupancy, for any reason, you will be charged the single supplement. We understand life occurrences. Your paid slot is transferable to your designee up to the day of arrival.
Responsibility
The liability of Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association as tour operator, is strictly limited. Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association purchase of transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurant and other services from independent suppliers are not under our control. We serve only as a partner for these suppliers in securing tour arrangements, and therefore will not accept responsibility for wrongful, negligent, or arbitrary acts or omissions of these independent contractors, or of their employees, agents, servants, or representatives. Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association are not liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, or delay that may be caused by events not within our control, including, without limitation, acts of terrorism, war, strikes, the defect of any vehicle, or the negligence or default of any third party. All coupons, receipts, and tickets issued are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the air carriers, cruise lines, and other independent suppliers. We will make every effort to operate our tours as planned, but we reserve the right to make itinerary changes as necessary. If unforeseen circumstances require us to change a hotel, we will select alternative accommodations of the same or better quality.
Health and Medical Issues
We request that you be in good health to participate in this Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association tour. There is a reasonable amount of walking, and you must be able to get on and off motorcoaches on your own. We regret that we cannot offer individual assistance; in such cases you must be accompanied by a companion who will assist you. Please note that many of our tour itineraries, for reasons beyond our control, do not accommodate wheelchairs. Please call or e-mail us to inquire and we will do our best to answer any questions you may have. We reserve the right to remove anyone whose physical or mental condition, in our opinion, compromises the operation of the tour or detracts from the enjoyment or safety of the other passengers. In that event, Alabama Civil Rights Tourism Association assumes no financial responsibility for any unused portion of the tour.
